Journalist Adem Yavuz Arslan examines documents President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s government submitted to US authorities in an effort to implicate the Gülen movement in Turkey’s July 15, 2016 coup attempt. Arslan says the files contain internal contradictions, unrelated material and additions made to witness statements after they were first recorded, arguing that Ankara altered court evidence to support its accusations against the movement.
