Mehmet Eymür, a former senior official in Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT), has made controversial statements regarding the 2016 coup attempt. In a video broadcast on his YouTube channel, Eymür described the events as “an intelligence operation that got out of control.”
Eymür also claimed that Adil Öksüz—a key civilian suspect who was detained near the Akıncı airbase but subsequently released by authorities and disappeared—was actually an alleged intelligence asset working for MİT.

Following these remarks, the Aydınlık newspaper reported that they had contacted Eymür, who confirmed the authenticity of the video and his statements.
