Speaking on Gürkan Hacır’s program broadcast on Halk TV, journalist İsmail Saymaz raised a very important point regarding Turkey’s 2016 coup attempt, challenging the official narrative of the Turkish government.
Saymaz stated, “I still haven’t found an answer to this question in my mind. The number of Fethullah Gülen followers in the military who actually participated in the July 15 attempt is a quarter of the number of followers who were arrested after July 15. If all of these people, the soldiers arrested over the four years following the attempt, were indeed followers, why didn’t they get involved in the coup? I struggle to explain this. It doesn’t seem logical to me.”
Gazeteci @ismailsaymaz ’dan can alıcı soru; Ben halen kafamda şu soruya cevap bulamadım. 15 Temmuz’dan sonra 4 yıl boyunca alınan (tutuklanan) askerler de Fethullahçıysa, neden bunlar darbeye karışmadı. Bunu izahta zorlanıyorum. Mantıklı gelmiyor bana…#RuhiSu #MusaAnter pic.twitter.com/lX3atMQ6dY
